On behalf of the Board and staff of Maui Economic Opportunity, I express
our deepest condolences on the passing of County Council Pro Tempore Tasha
Kama. Member Kama’s kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to the
people of Maui will be long remembered. She served with heart and
integrity, always putting the community before herself.
Member Kama was a former MEO Board member who took her role seriously. She
was a 100% contributor and, as a former Head Start parent, a strong
advocate for early learning programs and family strengthening. She will be
sorely missed.
