Like other nonprofit organizations, the wheels of MEO’s mission to help others in our community spin on the work of volunteers. Each year, many individuals give their precious time and skills to help MEO reach those with income challenges, persons with disabilities, youths and seniors in our community. Volunteers support MEO by assisting in food distribution, entertaining at MEO events, sitting on the board or a committee and advocating for MEO causes.
In addition, financial donations made by supporters are a vital lifeblood for MEO, especially in these difficult economic times.
Volunteering offers other benefits, helping people connect with others and providing opportunities to practice important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, project planning, task management, and organization.
Simply put, without volunteers and benefactors, MEO could not do its work of “Helping People. Changing Lives.”
