Maui Economic Opportunity took its Teen Financial Literacy on the road . .
. or over the channel . . . to Lana‘i High & Elementary on Oct. 16.

Business Development Center Specialists Lianne Peros-Busch and Teon Simmons
taught more than 130 youth in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades at the school in
three sessions about budgeting and savings.

Lianne and Teon truncated their two-day Teen Financial Literacy curriculum
that had been offered a week earlier to middle and high school youth on
Maui during Fall Break.

BDC has been expanding the reach of the Teen Financial Literacy class into
the schools. The curriculum has been offered at Maui High, now Lana‘i and
King Kekaulike early next year.
