Hawaiian Electric donated to Maui Economic Opportunity a total of 150
toiletry and hygiene items, including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes,
toothpaste and laundry soap, to be given to Head Start preschool families
and Community Services clients in need.
The two-week drive in April was organized by the utility’s Revenue
Management and Customer Ombudsman teams. Larson Gascon and Melissa
Driggers-Tengan of Hawaiian Electric dropped off the donations at MEO’s
Wailuku office last week.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of Hawaiian Electric’s Revenue
Management and Customer Ombudsman teams,” said MEO CEO Debbie Cabebe. “Many
individuals and families we support through our programs struggle to pay
for the basic necessities of life.
“This gift is a blessing for them.”
