Kim McLaughlin, president/owner of Boots on the Ground Maui, surprised MEO COO Gay Sibonga with a check for $10,888.32 on June 7 at MEO’s Wailuku office.
The funds will be directed to MEO’s efforts to support those impacted by the wildfires, just as Boots on the Ground Maui had been doing.
Kim said she was closing her not-for-profit and disbursing the funds to local non-profits – MEO, Maui Humane Society and Maui Strong Fund. Her goal is to reorganize and continue charitable efforts.
We also learned that MEO programs assisted Kim and her children back in the day when she was a single Mom.
There are many nonprofits doing good works for those impacted by the August 8 wildfires. MEO feels privileged and grateful to Kim and Boots on The Ground Maui for choosing us to receive funding.
