MEO team seeking job candidates at job fair Friday Dec. 10

Maui Economic Opportunity hopes to meet candidates for multiple open positions – including Head Start preschool staff and a Lahaina bus driver – at the Maui County Resource & Job Fair from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku. Cliff Caesar and Rose Santiago from Human Resources, Cassi Yamashita and Jan Cerizo from Community Services and Alex Domingo from Early Childhood Services will be representing MEO at the event, sponsored by American Job Center Hawaii, UH-Maui College and the Maui County Office of Economic Opportunity. Among the candidates for whom the MEO team will be on the watch are multiple positions in Head Start, including Education Manager ($50,610 annually), Family Services Manager ($45,251) and Mentor Coach ($42,512), as well as a full-time teacher and an on-call teacher’s aide. The MEO team also will be keeping an eye out for a full-time CDL driver ($22.89 an hour) who resides in Lahaina. MEO Transportation also is seeking candidates for its next cohort of CDL trainees, who are paid during the four to six weeks of training and offered driver positions upon obtaining their CDL B with P and S Endorsements. There also are openings MEO-wide for a program clerk, Transportation Scheduler/Planner, Housing Outreach Specialist, Agriculture Specialist and Facility and Grounds Maintenance Technician. There also are opportunities to register for UH-Maui College and for training for better jobs and to sign-up for internships.
