MEO joins Molokai Community Resource Fair

March 29, 2022

Maui Economic Opportunity Community Services, National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) and Molokai Branch staff joined the Molokai Community Resource Fair on March 19 at Lanikeha Community Center in Ho‘olehua.

Community Services Director Cassi Yamashita and NFJP Program Manager Dee Kahuhu flew to Molokai to join new Molokai Branch Manager Mahie McPherson and Napua Bicoy from Early Childhood Services on Molokai.

The event was sponsored by the Molokai Homestead Farmers Alliance with the goal of preparing the island for emergencies with residents learning about services and resources on the island. The nonprofit Alliance is a group of homestead farmers who advocate for the protection of water rights, food safety, agriculture and other issues.

More than 300 people stopped by the Community Center, Kahuhu said. MEO had two tables at the event and received lots of queries about the agency programs, including the senior discount Red Cards and Business Development Center offerings, she said.
