Executive Assistant Lee Imada was named Maui Economic Opportunity Employee of the Month at a virtual general staff meeting Friday, July 29.
He was nominated by Mae Koyanagi, who is one of two administration staff he supervises.
“I will hear him talking to people who need help that doesn’t involve MEO,” she said in nominating Lee. “But he never says ‘I don’t know’; he will find them the resources they need.
“This is a trait of all MEO staff as they go the extra mile.”
Lee has been employed by MEO for about a year and half as Executive Assistant to CEO Debbie Cabebe.
After the announcement, Cabebe said “Lee is a gem. He brings a wealth of knowledge to MEO. He is effective, helpful and humble. We are so fortunate to have him on our team”.
For being named Employee of the Month for May, Lee earned a $150 check and an extra vacation day. Mae received $50 as the nominator.
