The Paratransit Advisory Committee will be convening its second meeting at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 4, via Zoom.

The advisory committee provides a link between riders, caregivers, businesses, institutions and the Maui County Department of Transportation and Maui Economic Opportunity, which operates the Maui Bus paratransit system. The goal of the committee is to improve the American Disabilities Act paratransit riders’ experience.

At the advisory committee’s inaugural meeting on Oct. 5, Chubby Vicens was selected chair of the committee and Laura Vo, vice chair.

The agenda for the Jan. 4 meeting includes updates by MEO Transportation Director Patty Copperfield on telephone wait times and on-time performance. Driver openings and safety issues also will be discussed.

Transportation Director Marc Takamori and Deputy Director Michael DuPont will be providing a department update.
