Maui Economic Opportunity gave a warm and sentimental retirement send off to Kaui Alo-Palau, who has been a fixture for the last 20 years. A luncheon was held in her honor on her last day today.

Kaui told the story of her hiring as a Facilities staffer and how she kept secret that her Mom, Verna, was a Head Start teacher. As the first one in the office everyday, Kaui said she enjoyed seeing the smiles of everyone starting their day.

“The word ‘Aloha’ is spelled in the plumeria (of the MEO logo). I am very proud to have worked here,” she said at the luncheon.
