Maui Economic Opportunity Board President Bard Peterson and CEO Debbie Cabebe presented MEO’s Benefactor of the Year and certificate of congratulations from Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino to Maui Soda & Ice Works on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at the company plant on Lower Main Street. The Nobriga family has owned Maui Soda for the last 75 years and is transitioning the fourth generation into management. Maui Soda has given generously to MEO and other community organizations, and Mike Nobriga, chairman of the board of Maui Soda, sits on MEO’s board. Maui Soda distributes drinks, including Coca-Cola and Monster Energy lines, and Roselani ice cream.

Maui Soda was announced as MEO Benefactor of the Year at a virtual event Feb. 12, 2021. The presentations of the proclamation and plaque were made at Maui Soda’s Lower Main Street plant on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.
